Festival of Voices

The Festival of Voices is a major annual national Arts festival held in Hobart, supported by the Tasmanian government through Events Tasmania. Choirs of all ages and styles and from all over the country will gather in Hobart from 28 June until 7 July. Several performances and workshops occur in various venues every day, including one for Tasmanian school students.

Due to the distance between our school and Hobart, it was not feasible for us to take part in the choral workshop for schools. Instead, the organisers kindly agreed to bring the workshop to us!

Students in Years 3 to 6 from Orford, Triabunna and Swansea will come together at Triabunna District School and the Brisbane Birralee Voices will meet us there. They will perform for us, and their conductor will then work with our students, to sing together with the Birralee Voices.

The workshop will run from 11am to 12:30pm, which means that your children will bring their usual lunchboxes to school and eat before we depart and on our return to Swansea. Students will need to wear their school uniforms on the day.
