Dear families,
On Friday the 22nd of August, students in Grades 2 - 6 will be travelling to Hobart for the Festival of Bright Ideas (FOBI). With over 30+ exhibitors, students will immerse themselves in the wonderful world of science through hands-on activities; explore sustainability initiatives for a better world; and find out how Tasmanians contribute to the advancement of society and the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
Grade 2/3:
Grade 2/3 students will be attending this festival as a whole class group. We understand that some students may be away due to siblings coming back from Canberra the night before. Students’ educational provision for the day will be at FOBI.
Grade 4/5/6:
For Grade 4/5/6 students we understand that this may not be possible due to returning from Canberra the evening before, however we do warmly invite students to attend. For students staying in Hobart on the night of Thursday the 21st of August, you are welcome to meet our school group at Princes Wharf at 10:45am. We can also happily arrange drop offs on the way to/from Hobart on the day. We would appreciate communication from Grade 4/5/6 parents of what your child will be doing on the 22nd of August so we can plan accordingly.
Itinerary:
8:40 – depart SPS, travel by bus to FOBI
10:45am – arrive 15 minutes early for session, toilets etc.
11:00am – session commences with scheduled activities
