Science
On the 15th of August, Mrs Wells organised for students from Prep to year 6 to go on an excursion to Tasman Sea Salt at Mayfield to learn about science and innovation used in salt harvesting. The tour provided by Chris and Alice was an insightful experience for students as they were able to see all the stages and processes and how technology is used in the production of the salt. Alice also provided a tasting opportunity for students, and they learnt about how salt enhances the flavour of both savoury and sweet food. We were fortunate to have perfect weather so that all students had an opportunity to explore, investigate and inquire about the local environment at Mayfield afterwards too!








Last Thursday, Mrs Wells and the 5/6 class organised a science expo by inviting representatives from local industries to come in to school and share and explain how innovations have changed their work and how technology might be used in the future to improve their idustry. Students from grade 1 to grade 6 were intrigued with presentations and we would like to thank the following people for volunteering their time and sharing their knowledge with us:
