Kinder/Prep
For the past couple of weeks, the Kinder/Prep class has been studying a book called The Nowhere Box by Sam Zuppardi. We couldn't help but have some fun retelling the story using our own characters and ideas and decided to present our new story at the end of Term 2 Assembly.
Below is a short snippet of our story:
The rainy day had become a real nuisance. Everywhere the Kinder/Preps went the rainy day followed. The Kinder/Prep students had had enough!
“Where are you going?” cried the rainy day.
“Nowhere! And you can’t follow us!” said the Kinder/Preps.
The many boxes Miss Pearce, Stuart, Miss Murray and Mrs Hay found from around the school was just what the Kinder/Preps needed. In no time, they were ready for their escape. They pressed a button and suddenly they were Nowhere. Nowhere was vast and empty. But not for long. Soon Nowhere was amazing! Nowhere was magnificent! Nowhere was fantastic!

Poppie went to Space!
Zeb went to Burger World!
Flora went Under the Sea!
Lincoln went to Africa!
Riley went to Transformer world!
Baily went to Pizza World and ate all the pizza in his special car.
Felix went to Nugget World in his Electric Spy Rocket ship!
Ella went to Toy World and broke all the remote controls in her car.
Melody went to London with Georgina and rode some horses in her Cubby Train.
Georgina went under the sea to dance with the fish.
In our pictures you will see that we used our imaginations to design and create our own magic buttons and dream destinations. Throughout the term we have also been exploring the big idea of Materials. We applied our knowledge of recycled materials to build our large box creations. We also needed to use our mathematical thinking skills to make sure they would be big enough to fit our bodies and strong enough to stay together when we played with them.

The Kinder/Prep class would like to thank the following special helpers:
*Ava, Alice, Abby, Ivy and Kai for staying in the classroom at Recess and Lunch to help us build our creations.
*Miss Murray for helping with our cardboard box art and button creations.
*Lincoln and Eva for helping us to present our class item at the Whole School Assembly.
