Marvellous Maths!
In our geometry work this term we have been investigating shape, location and transformation. We have created maps of an island and discovered the use of co-ordinates and orientation when we want to locate a feature. We also created a flag for our island using polygons. We used the flag design and created a tessellating pattern to demonstrate how shapes can be moved by translation, reflection and rotation (slide, flip and turn). We created paintings similar in design to the work of Piet Mondrian. We learnt to use protractors to measure the size of the angles we created in our art.
