Grade 456 have had a truly fantastic start to Term 4!

It was lovely to welcome our new student Jheriane into Grade 456 and it was fabulous to watch the other students show her just how things work here at Swansea Primary School.

We started the term with our first ever Swansea Primary swimming carnival and the students enthusiastically participated in all events. It was great to see some competitive rivalry in the pool but most of all it was awesome to see how supportive everyone was of each and every other swimmer.

As far as learning is concerned, we’ve jumped straight in there too! We’ve been practising lots of fractions these last two weeks and I’m pleased to say that there has been a huge amount of success in our classroom with this concept. The Grade 456 students have worked with mixed fractions, improper fractions and fractions with different denominators.

In English we’ve started reading ‘The Twits’ as we’re looking at characterisation this term. The Grade 456 students have been given a copy of the two plays that we will be performing at the end of the year and have been asked to start practising their lines. We’ve also set up our new recycling bins in the different classrooms and around our school.

Lots of fun and exciting learning is happening already and there’s lots more to come this term!
