Hi Everyone, 

My name is Mrs Wells and I feel very blessed to be working alongside you, to educate your children this year. Ms Calder will be teaching on the Prep/1 class one day a week and this will usually occur on Thursdays. 

This week we have been exploring our new learning space, learning about new routines and becoming familiar with new expectations that reflect that we are all a year older in 2021. I have been amazed at how brave, kind, and helpful our class is.  

We have been talking a lot about the number 100. We are counting to 100 days of school this year. It is also the hundredth year of Swansea Primary School! You will hear a lot more about the number 100 this year! Everyone has enjoyed exploring our similarities and differences with Mrs Calder and making posters for you to look at when you visit on Wednesday for our Welcome to School BBQ. Hopefully your child will show you our Inquiry Room, our classroom and our Art area.  In maths we have been using cards to play lots of fun games that help us learn numbers. In Inquiry we all had the chance to plant our very own vegetable and are looking forward to watching all of the veggies grow. 

This year the P/1 class will also participate in lots of specialist subjects. On Tuesday mornings we will have PE with Miss Murray. Thursdays are library days so please remember to pop any books to be returned in your child’s bag. On Friday mornings we have Auslan with Mrs Sparshott. On Friday afternoons we have Art with Mrs Gadd and Mrs Calder.
