Hi! My name is Kristy Hay and I am excited to introduce myself as the new Principal of Swansea Primary School.  Along with my family, my husband Chris, our two children, Ivy and Henry and our dog Daisy, we have relocated to the sunny East Coast.  For the past fifteen years, I have worked at St. Michael's Collegiate School, an independent school in Hobart and filled various teaching and leadership roles. 

Growing up in Bridgewater, a low socioeconomic community, I defied the odds of educational attainment because of my teachers and why I first chose to become a teacher.  I am the first in my family to ever attend university, where I passed with Honours and since then, I have successfully completed many post graduate certificates including a Master’s in Mathematics Education and most recently an Advanced Leadership Certificate. My greatest career achievement is fulfilling this very important Principalship and I am committed to providing quality education and opportunities for the students of Swansea Primary School. I am looking forward to meeting with you and developing a partnership in your child’s education.
