Grade 1/2/3 Topic Talks

This week our 'Topic Talks' have been about something old. Some students brought in things that they have owned for a year and others brought in things that they had been given when they were babies.

We also had a few examples of older items such as a rusty Clydesdale horse shoe, old farm equipment, an old pencil sharpener, a regular horse shoe and a very old watch.

We have been relating our 'Topic Talks' to our History work that looks at the past, the present and making predictions about the future. We did an activity about Henry’s Great Grandfather’s watch and compared it to some of the watches in the classroom. We then made predictions about watches in the future.  

Next week’s Topic Talk is about a special place which will possibly prompt conversations about the connections that we have to places.
