Principal's Communication

Today, the staff participated in professional conversations and planning with DoE’s Aboriginal Education Services staff Todd and Sarah.  We were treated to a heart-warming Acknowledgement of Country and posed many questions.  It was wonderful to have our wonderings answered.

This week we met with Miriam from Playstreet to talk about the initial draft of our new Nature Play Garden.  The design will incorporate the Bike and Scooter track which we hope to have arrive mid November.

On Monday NAPLAN results were published and shared with our staff and individual results were sent home to families.  We are extremely excited to share these schoolwide results:

100% of students in year 3 scored above the National minimum standard in Reading.

100% of year 5 students scored well-above the Australian average in Reading.

100% of students in year 3 scored above the national minimum standard in Writing.

80% of students in year 5 scored at or above the national minimum standard in Writing.

100% of year 3 students scored well-above the Tasmanian average in Spelling.

100% of students in year 5 achieved higher than the Tasmanian average in Spelling.

100% of students in year 3 scored above the National minimum standard in Grammar and Punctuation.

100% of year 5 students scored well-above the Australian average in Grammar and Punctuation.

100% of students in year 3 scored at or above the national minimum standard in Numeracy.

100% of all year 5 students scored at or above the Australian average in Numeracy.

These results are impressive and show the growth we are aiming for with all of our students. Hard work really does pay off and we are very proud of this years cohort of students who sat the assessments and their collective achievements.  Well done, to all of our year 3 and 5 students. You too, should be proud of your efforts!
