PRINCIPALS COMMUNICATION
Welcome to Swansea Primary’s first edition of our newsletter for 2022. It is wonderful to have the students back and to welcome our new families who have joined us this year across the school.
This year we have 57 students divided between a Early Primary (KP), with Miss Pearce, Middle Primary (123) with our new teacher Mrs Sliskovic and Upper Primary (456) class with Mrs Wilson.
We have also welcomed new staff members including Miss Walch (HPE and Outdoor Education on Thursday and Friday), Miss Van Galen (Kinder/Prep TA), and returning staff Mrs Elise Wells (STEAM and LIL/KP Teacher), Mrs Sparshott (456 Teacher and Sustainable Learning and Teacher Assistant), Rachael Stewart (Admin), Tracey Jacobson (EFA) and Michelle Santos (EFA).
We have had a busy but great start to the school year. The beginning of each new school year often triggers an ingrained instinct to buckle down and get to our core work of teaching and learning. With COVID-19 amongst us, there have been some obvious changes to our daily routines which are simply speed humps on our journey, but, as we manoeuvre through the next pathway together, we will learn together and continue to display our school values of courage, aspiration, growth and respect.
I would like to personally congratulate our student elected Student Representative Councillors (SRC) Joshua Baker and Alice Calder and our 2022 Sports Captains, Millie Sparshott, Alex Maclaine and Abby Lyne. I look forward to working with you all throughout 2022 as the confident young leaders you are and the student voice of SPS. Well done!
