Early Primary

In Art this week, Lower Primary learned about four flags of Australia - the national, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags, and the Tasmanian flag. We talked about how flags celebrate belonging to a community. We also talked about how people with Aboriginal history have been in Australia for a very long time - longer than anyone else. We learned about the Aboriginal flag - where the colours are and what they represent. Then we made handprint flags and a windcatcher using red, yellow and black. We took our windcatchers outside to catch the breeze in front of the flag poles. The flags are really flying in the wind this week!
