Grade 1-6 Excursion to Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens and Cascades Female Factory
On Friday the 3rd of June, the grade 1-6's had a wonderful excursion in Hobart. We visited the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens first, followed by a trip to the Cascades Female Factory.
We learnt a great deal about the Arthur Wall and growing our own food. We also went on our own adventure through the gardens, discovering the beautiful Huon Pines, the duck pond and waterfalls.
The Female Factory gave us a deep insight into what life was like for the female convicts in Hobart. We spent time on a tour of the grounds and also participated in activities from the convict era, including spinning, wool carding and clothes washing.
We hope you enjoy our photos from this wonderful excursion.
