Principals Communication
We’ve had a great end to the semester although unfortunately, due to inclement weather, the East Coast Colour Run at The Spring Bay Mill (SBM) in Triabunna has been postponed. We are already looking forward to dates when all three schools can partipate. Regardless, I would like to thank, Miss Murray for her miticulous planning of the event and Glamorgan Spring Bay Council for providing a monetary contribution of $200 per school for transport as well as Triabunna Pop Up Book Stall (PUBS) for their support and funds towards the combined SBM BBQ and transport of $3450 because without their support this event wouldn’t even be a possibility.
You will have been inundated with information regarding Mid – Year Reports that were sent home yesterday. This Semester, Swansea Primary School students in Year 1 – Year 6 have been assessed against the new 9-point scale in English, Maths and Science and Health and Physical Education has been assessed using the 5-point worded rating by Miss Walch. Prep students in 2022 will only receive an end of year report using this format. Kinder students have recently received their Kindergarten Development Check results via face-to-face interviews with Miss Pearce and Prep to Year 6 interviews will take place in Week 1 of Term 3 from the 26th-28th July. For teachers and parents to come together and discover areas of weakness and strengths of a student can help the student immensely towards achieving their aspirational and personal goals.
Yesterday we held a virtual awards assembly to celebrate the growth and contribution of many of our students and staff this semester. It was wonderful to have over half of our parents join us but if you missed it - please enjoy the recording below.
I hope you all have a restful and enjoyable break, whether you're planning on staying put on the East Coast or venturing off on a holiday destination. Keep well, and we will see you all next term. Students return on Tuesday 26th July.
