The sun was shining brightly, the breeze was still and the surf was... well, rather calm. 

But that didn't matter to the 24 grade 3/4/5/6 students who arrived eagerly at Waub's Bay beach on Wednesday morning.  After a quick recess, we met Gary and Felix from 42 Degrees South Surf School, gathered our wetsuits and rashies, and suited up ready to surf!  Splitting into two groups, the grade 3's plus a couple of extras headed to the Kelp Forests on the southern end of the beach.  The remaining Grade 4/5/6 class grabbed their boards and gathered to learn a few handy surfing skills to make their experience amazing!
