From Kristy's Desk
As King Charle’s III Coronation looms and history is in the making, I have enjoyed teaching about the history of the British Monarch and our relationship to the royal family as members of the Commonwealth of Nations with the 5/6 class. We created magnificent digital artworks. Some of which are still works in progress and will perhaps be available to purchase as part of the Art Auction we will be holding in Week 2 of Term 3 as a culminating celebration of the artwork we create during Children’s Art Week (CAW) between the 26-30th June. During CAW we hope to be hosting various artists in residence in the school to expose students to various local artists and a cross section of styles and mediums of Art. There will be a Sip and Paint evening, open to all members of the community on Thursday 29th June at Artifakt Gallery & Cafe from 6pm. So please, lock that into your diaries. Our wonderful School Association committee members have been busy preparing for the Art Auction to be held on Friday 4th August at Milton Vineyard and this extravaganza and will be our annual fundraising appeal. If you know of any artists or have time to support this event, we would welcome your input and hope you will support this educational fundraising opportunity. I hope you enjoy the Coronation and take time to commemorate to the dawn of a new era within the British empire.
