The creativity, flexibility and resilience that has been demonstrated in our response to COVID-19 has been remarkable. Thank you all! I have been continually inspired by the many different examples of staff upskilling and student growth during the online world we have known to be "school" for the past 7 weeks. Students of essential workers who have remained at school are desperate for their friends to return. I would like to take this opportunity thank all of the staff for adapting their teaching practices to engage students learning remotely and congratulate them on our continuing success of over 95% engagement. What a success story we are!
Public Health has always maintained that our sites are safe, however it is important that over the coming weeks we maintain the safety measures we have been taking. This includes good hygiene practices, extra cleaning, and practicing physical distancing where we can. Parents, please DO NOT enter the school grounds and adhere to the STOP signs posted around the school. I have resent our previous announcement about Parents and Physical Distancing and have attached a link to the ministers letter on 'Parents Physical Distancing on School Sites'.

Please remember that if you, or your child feels unwell, make the decision to stay at home. Most importantly, if you are experiencing any symptoms, such as fever, runny nose, cough/itchy throat or shortness of breath, do not enter School and arrange to be tested by calling the Public Health Hotline or your GP. This will help to ensure the safety of our community.

Missing our usual cross country carnival? Our School has signed up to the Great Australian Cross Country Challenge! It’s a virtual run meaning that you run OR walk when and where you want, adhering to social distancing rules and then log your stats in the results hub. There’s also some great prizes to be won including ASICS gear!

Dear LiL families 
Dear Grade 1/2/3 students and families
Today is our last day of online learning. I would like to say a big thank you and congratulations to all of you for the hard work that you have put into this new way of teaching and learning. Thank you for being patient with me and flexible when the technology didn’t quite work the way I intended. This has been a big learning curve for all of use and I am very thankful to work with such wonderful students and supportive families.
It has been lovely to still be able to see you all on our morning zoom meetings and I am very excited to be back in class with you on Monday as I have some exciting things planned for the remainder of Term 2.
On Monday we need you to bring your tubs and ‘Learning at Home’ packs back to school. As we are currently trying to limit the number of people coming into the school building, we will have a trolley ready at the fire extinguisher so that we can help the students bring their tubs back through to their classrooms.
We would still like to be able to communicate about our learning using our class Canvas page. To make this easier we are asking parents to download the ‘Canvas Parent’ app. This is available in the App store or the Play Store and is a free app.
I hope you have a lovely, relaxing weekend and I will see you back in our classroom on Monday.

A message from Miss Pearce
Dear Kinder/Prep families,
I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for your patience and hard work this term! Together, we have just navigated our way through our first online learning adventure, and I don't know about you, but I'm feeling very proud of our efforts. I am also feeling so grateful to have done it with such a supportive and understanding team.
Thank you for attending our daily Morning Meetings and making time in your busy day to include your child's daily learning routines. From speaking with many of you about this, I know it has not always been an easy thing to do.
I have been blown away by the amount of support, effort and detail you have all put into your daily tasks with your children. This tricky time has once again reminded me of how competent, capable and resilient our young learners are. Their natural sense of curiosity and willingness to learn has been so strong. Your children inspired me to plan and upload learning experiences that I dare say not all early childhood educators would feel confident to do.
Important information
Learning Tubs
When your child returns, please ensure that they bring their learning tubs back to school with everything that went home in them. If there is anything that your child took a particular liking to, please let me know so that I can make a copy and send home.
School Drop Off and Pick Up
In order to continue providing a safe learning environment for our children, adults will not be able to enter the school building and will need to walk their child (and their learning tub) across the car park to the red fire hydrant drop off area. The Front of School duty teacher will then help your child to walk with their tubs through the school office and into the school netball court where the Morning Playground duty teacher will greet and help your child to walk to their classroom.

Kinder/Prep Online Class Party
To celebrate our last online morning meeting, we planned and participated in an online class party! There were balloons, party hats, carefully arranged bunting, painted faces, special lights, jokes, lego creations, transformers, games, songs and so much more! Personally, I feel that the image below sums up our online learning adventure beautifully and tells a wonderful story of growth, courage, respect and aspiration. I wonder if you agree!?
