Swansea Primary School will be taking part in the annual Red Shield Appeal with the Salvation Army on Thursday the 23rd of June.
Steve and Linda Miller from East Coast Tasmanian Salvos will be in attendance, to help our student leaders and run a hot dog stall for lunch.
To support this annual fundraiser, we would like to invite students to wear a splash of red to school for the day rather than their school uniform.
There will be an optional lunch offering of:
A Hot Dog in a roll and red jelly available to purchase for $5 per person.
Hot Dogs $4 and Red Jelly cups will be $1.
Swansea Primary School is very appreciative for the financial and in kind support that the Salvation Army offer to our school and we look forward to working with them in the future.

Friday, was the first of many things for us here at Swansea Primary School. Our first virtual Cross Country, first Swan vs Oyster Cross Country Carnival and first face-to-face school event post COVID-19 where all classes came together to cheer, connect and celebrate team spirit and running together. To all of our athletes, well done and a special congratulations to Swan for the team win! Luckily for us, the weather held out and so too did the technology. All in all, it was a wonderful day to hold our very first virtual Cross Country and Miss Murray did a terrific job organising the entire event. Thank you to all of the parents who joined us online throughout the day and thank you for your patience.
This photo was taken last week after our first few days of face to face learning and it sums up how we as a staff are feeling - the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow has arrived with our students back. The feeling is great and its so nice to hear the students in the yard and working together.
Keep your eye out for our annual fundraiser - a Silent Auction - COMING SOON to you in Term 3 - if you have anything you can donate we would love to hear from you. Please email us swansea.primary@education.tas.gov.au
Swan v Oyster Virtual Cross Country Carnival
Cross Country
Well done to all our students today, what a wonderful display of sportsmanship.
Thanks so much to the student leaders who helped set up the course and organise students ready for their race. Many students were brilliant at cheering and encouraging those around them. We really have supportive kids who care about others. It was great to see the Swan vs. Oyster spirit brought into our cross country carnival this year and the level of enthusiasm students showed supporting their team.
Our overall winner for our Swansea Primary School Cross Country carnival for 2020 was Swan on 94 points, closely followed by Oyster finishing on 72 points.
We hope you all enjoyed watching our virtual event via Zoom! Thanks for your patience and support.

Can you donate anything for our SRC 'no fair' fundraiser - a silend auction to be held in Term 3?
If so, we'd love to hear from you!
Plese contact the school office on 62578126 or email swansea.primary@education.tas.gov.au
Thanks
