It has been another big fortnight and NAPLAN has been a positive and smooth process this year, with only a few students unable to complete the tests due to an increase in absentees due to illness. Thank you to those parents who are keeping their sick children at home. You are helping in the bigger picture and keeping us well.
Preparations have begun for our External School Review coming up on 17th and 18th June. We are looking forward to the process and invite you to participate as a member of the school community. If you would like to be involved please email me kristy.hay@education.tas.gov.au and we will make a time for you to be interviewed. I welcome you to participate and look forward to your support and input into these four yearly school improvement cycles.
This week the staff met with Miriam form Play Street for our initial nature play space and bike and scooter track additions to the playground. It was a very productive meeting and we look forward to sharing some initial design concepts with you for your input. If you would like to be a part of a sub committee as part of the School Association, please let us know. Your expertise and enthusiasm and energy is very much needed.
On Thursday we congratulated and celebrated World Family Doctors Day and invited Camilla and Andrew in for afternoon tea, cake and to announce the winner of our art competition to design a logo for the Swansea General Practice. We were excited for Ruby Elmer, Year 6 student for winning and hope you enjoy the new addition to your doctor paperwork accompanied by Ruby’s logo design. Congratulations Ruby, Andrew and Camilla!
