Wow! What a fantastic way to end the term. We have celebrated the School's 102nd Birthday, SPSSA, P-6 Progress Reports have been sent home, we've wrapped up our AustSwim swimming lessons with Melissa, held a successful Easter Raffle and Rainbow Day and the weather turned it on for us for our annual Swan VS Oyster Aths Carnival. This year, it was held at the Swansea Rec Ground and we wish to thank the following people:
- Christopher Nichols for his time preparing the grounds and marking the lines for us
- Beth and the Cricket Club for access to the internal toilets
- Glamorgan Spring Bay Little Athletics Association for use of their equipment and special thanks to Mrs Sparshott for her flexibility and organisation skills on the day in Miss Walch's absence. It was a huge sucess due to the help and support of so many people and what a great way to end a busy term.
I hope you have a safe and relaxing Easter break.
See you on back at school on Wednesday 26th April!

Auf Wiedersehen!
It has been my pleasure to introduce the German language to Swansea Primary School during the first term of 2023. The enthusiasm has been inspirational, and my hope is that everyone will keep referring back to their books and adding to their vocabulary. I love the way students come up to me in the local shops with a big smile, friendly ‘guten Tag!’ and responding in German when I point to items on the shelves. Keep singing your German songs, remember always to say ‘danke schön’ and most importantly, ‘ich liebe dich!’

In Kinder/Prep we have been busy little researchers! We made observations, predictions and asked questions about seeds and bulbs.
“The bulb looks like a rocket” Joanie
“Why does the pot have holes in it?” Benji
“I can still see a little bit of bulb” Eowyn
We read a book called That’s Not a Daffodil! and planted bulbs. We wonder if they really will be daffodils.
Kinder/Prep students are communicators. We have begun to create texts that show someone how to plant a bulb. We will revisit our texts multiple times to add more details, labels and some sentences.
Families please remember to pack lunches for Wednesday the Last Day of Term 1. No Lunch Program on this day.
Thank You to our Special Helpers
Look closely! Can you see what we have been learning about in Maths? Can you see who came to help us with our learning about Time, Money, Fractions, Place Value and Measurement? A special thank you to Steve, Linda and Penny for volunteering their time...and apples (thanks Penny)! Another special thank you to Miss Pearce's Mother, Sally for helping some of our inquiry dreams to come true. Term 1 may be coming to an end but out 1/2 learners' personal inquiries are certainly not!

What does learning look like in Grade 3/4?
Learning can happen in many shapes and forms, and this is certainly true in Grade 3/4! We've used many different learning methods across the curriculum this week. Enjoy!

The SPSSA Div F Athletics carnival was held on Tuesday the 28th of March this year. Despite the Domain being shrouded in clouds, which occasionally let loose with a deluge of droplets, there was no dampening of the spirits of our talented, young SPS athletes. They threw, they jumped and they ran their hearts out to support our school. Here are a few highlights of the day, with special thanks to the parents who caught a few snaps too!

Well done families!! on March 23rd March Swansea Primary School participated in Ride2School Day. Well done students1
