Launching into Learning is on Today

KP1 Swimming Lessons Oatlands Aquatic Centre
- Friday 20th June 2025
- Thursday 14th August 2025
This will coincide with future Learn to Swim sessions that will be held at the Grove’s Pool in Term 4, 2025 for the K/P/1 class. On these two occasions, the bus will leave at approximately 9:00am and return by 2:45pm.
Swimming is a vital skill and as our students live on the Coast, we wish to prioritise Learn to Swim and provide all students with as many aquatic opportunities as possible. Melissa Quinn and Dilys Fyle will be co-ordinating the sessions. Lifeguards will also be onsite at the centre, and Kate Pearce will be the supervising teacher.
Students are required to bring:
- Packed morning tea and lunch
- Drink bottle
- Full school uniform
- Warm jacket
- 2 towels (one is sure to get wet)
- Bathers
- Goggles – optional
- Please note that the school will provide students with a swimming cap for the day
Students are required to follow school behavioural expectations in the lead up to, and on the day of the event. If you have any questions regarding the day, please contact me through the school office. This activity requires Aquatic Activity and Major Excursion permission forms to be returned to the school, please sign and return the attached form to the office.

Growing Up Program
Dear families,
We will be hosting the Growing Up Program (GUP) tomorrow, Tuesday 3rd June and Wednesday 4th June. GUP is Tasmania’s leading relationships, sexuality and protective behaviours’ program for students from Kindergarten – Grade 6 and is run by Family Planning Tasmania.

Parents/carers are invited to an information session at the school where you can ask educators about the program. The session will be held from 8:30am – 9:00am tomorrow, Tuesday 3rd June. SPSSA Div C Cross Country Carnival Grades 3-6 Reminder Information
Reminder Information for Today
INTERPRIMARY CROSS COUNTRY
Venue: Bayview Secondary College, Clarendon Vale.
Div C - Monday 2nd June
All Grade 3 to Grade 6 Swansea Primary School Students
The bus will be departing Swansea Primary School at 7.45 am sharp and returning by 4 pm.
Please advise if your child needs to be dropped off at childcare on return.
Students are required to bring:
- A packed lunch - students are welcome to bring money to support the canteen/bbq however this is as an extra please still ensure your child has a packed lunch.
- Plenty to drink
- Full school sports uniform
- Warm clothes
- Appropriate running shoes
- School hat
This activity is a Minor Excursion and therefore we do not need any further signed permission forms. If your child has had any changes in medical conditions since the beginning of the year, please let us know. If you do not wish for your child to attend this excursion, please let us know through the school office at swansea.primary@decyp.tas.gov.au.

Grade 6 Leaders
Grade 6 Student Leaders will have their second opportunity to the “out and about” in the community tomorrow, 30th May. Students will be visiting the Heritage Museum with Steve and Linda from the Salvos and Anna Knowles. This is a Minor Excursion and therefore, we do not require you to fill out any further paperwork. If your child’s medical information has changed or you do not wish for your child to participate in this opportunity, please let us know through the school office.

Swansea Primary Cross Country is TODAY!
The Cross Country Carnival will be held on Thursday, the 29th of May at Jubilee Beach. The carnival will commence at 9:15 am and conclude at 12:30 pm. Students are asked to please wear their full school sports uniform with their house top and suitable shoes for running.
Students will also be required to bring with them:
- Hat
- Sunscreen
- Warm clothes
- Raincoat
- Plenty of food and water
